LG V30s ThinkQ is out on sale: AI is taking over Smartphone Era
The LG V30s ThinQ has been the big surprise of the South Korean company so far this year. Its official presentation took place taking advantage of the framework of the MWC, although as we know, it will not be the real flagship star of LG for 2018.
The Barcelona MWC begun with the presentation of the LG V30s (standard and plus), renewed versions based on the LG V30 with artificial intelligence functions, which the South Korean firm includes under the ThinQ brand. LG takes advantage of the technologies researched in the AI laboratory that opened last summer to group own technologies such as DeepThinQ and other of its partners to connect devices, focused on the investigation of deep learning capabilities, electronic through voice commands, inputs video and sensory.
The LG ThinQ features will be included in its next line of household appliances, consumer electronics products, services and also in smartphones like this V30s with a new feature called “Vision AI” that aims to make the camera system smarter and easier to use of the phone. Voice AI will connect with the Google Assistant to provide 32 exclusive commands for LG phones.
Vision AI is similar to Samsung’s Bixby Vision and offers three main functions AI CAM, Bright Mode and QLens to improve the catch. Among its possibilities is the automatic analysis of the surroundings of a photograph to recommend the best shooting mode among the eight predefined ones available. You can also take the angle and color of the object, any reflection in the environment, as well as lighting and saturation levels to achieve the best possible image.
For the rest, the LG V30s maintains the general specifications of the V30, for our taste, one of the best LG flagships in years, based on a multitouch OLED screen “FullVision” 6 inches diagonal with a native resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels, and 18: 9 aspect ratio.
With a design derived from the LG G6, but less square and more elegant and attractive, its chassis is made of metal and glass and protected against knocks, drops, and water with MIL-STD-810G and IP68 certifications. Its internal hardware maintained with the Snapdragon 835 chipset but has RAM up to 6 Gbytes of RAM and 128 Gbytes of expandable storage capacity with microSD. The model LG V30s plus of this version offers 256 Gbytes of capacity.
Its camera system has a dual sensor of 16 and 13 megapixels (wide angle 120 °) in its main camera and a 5 MP 90 degrees in the front. Its battery is 3,300 mAh and has the enhanced audio system with a 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC chip and Bang & Olufsen speakers.
LG G7 Neo will be the flagship that to be equipped with a SoC Snapdragon 845. Its launch could take place in June (possibly at Computex), and we expect it to come with major changes at the design level.
Returning to the LG V30s ThinQ, we have the official phone prices in South Korea, a country where you will have real availability (no pre-purchase) starting tomorrow March 9th. The model of 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage capacity will cost 790 euros, while the model of 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage capacity will rise to 825 euros. The price difference is quite small, so the higher capacity model is emerging as the most interesting option.
Keep in mind that these prices could differ in their international debut depending on the taxes of each country.
